Karina Olano, partner of BBGS Abogados Peru, advises and sponsors companies in various fields on issues of competition, advertising, intellectual property, consumer protection and personal data protection. She is part of a highly trained team that provides legal services to companies from different industries, in the financial, insurance, education, entertainment, retail and real estate sectors.

Her extensive experience, over fifteen years, in the representation and defense of clients, has allowed her accomplishing multiple successful cases and significantly reducing  penalties, ensuring regulatory compliance in critical areas such as consumer protection, market conduct management, competition and personal data protection.

She has participated in projects implemented in various renowned companies in Peru as required by the Data Protection Law and the Consumer Protection Law. Likewise, she has generated precedents of mandatory compliance in the Consumer Courts.

Karina is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and a graduate of the Master's Degree in Economic Administrative Law from Universidad del Pacífico.  She holds Specializations in the Legal Regime of Personal Data Protection from Universidad ESAN, and in Consumer Protection, Advertising and Unfair Competition from Universidad del Pacífico.

She is frequently invited as a speaker at various academic events on personal data protection and consumer protection issues. In addition, she is the author of several academic articles published in recognized journals in the field of law. She has contributed with input specialized in her field to newspaper El Comercio.
