Victor Arnold Tapia Obaldo, partner of the Conflict Resolution and Insolvency areas of BBGS Abogados Peru, advises corporate clients in complex court proceedings and arbitrations in matters related to civil, commercial, constitutional, contentious-administrative litigation and contracting with the State. He also advises prominent families on inheritance and family law issues.
He has more than thirteen years of experience in the area of conflict resolution that includes the Peruvian Judiciary and prestigious Peruvian law firms. He advised a major Peruvian bank in the ongoing legal proceedings brought by the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines, which sought the enforcement of two letters of guarantee valued at approximately S/. 10MM.
Likewise, he successfully advised an important foreign-owned company engaged in fruit exports to the United States, Europe and Asia in its defense in an arbitration raised by its business partner. Similarly, he satisfactorily advised the heir of an important estate in all negotiations and legal actions against the rest of the heirs who had been depriving him of his participation in the estate.
He is a lawyer from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He attended postgraduate studies at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, specializing in Procedural Law. He has completed several diploma courses in contract law and civil liability, as well as specialized courses in arbitration.
He is an arbitrator, coach and collaborator in APTA, an association that promotes the participation of students in arbitration and judicial litigation competition in Peru and abroad.
