Felipe Rubio Torres advises clients on intellectual property right management processes, either as generators of protected content or as users thereof. He supports clients in contractual processes, licensing, legal uses of content and their court and out-of-court defense.
He holds more than 30 years of experience advising and defending court and out-of-court cases for entertainment and media companies such as Caracol TV, Canal Uno, Dago García Producciones, among others, generating defense and security policies in the exploitation of their productions throughout these years. He has also advised important international technology and software companies such as McAfee.
He is a lawyer from Universidad de los Andes, a member of the Colombian Copyright Center (CECOLDA) being its chairman for the 2003 – 2005 period, and a member of its Board of Directors on several opportunities. He is also a member of the Group of Studies on the Internet, Electronic Commerce, Communications and Informatics (GECTI) of the Faculty of Law of Universidad de Los Andes and the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI).
He has been an undergraduate and graduate Professor at the Faculty of Law of Universidad de Los Andes, since 1991. He was chosen as the best Professor in 2003.
